ARTERIA FIRST IN CLASS THERAPEUTIC MOLECULE SERIES FOR THE TREATMENT OF POSTPRANDIAL HYPERLIPEMIA AND ASSOCIATED DIABETIC DYSLIPIDEMIA
ARTERIA has a patented series of molecules that effectively inhibit the capacity of CD36 to interact with oxidized LDL and Long Chain Fatty Acid.
THE TARGET CD36:
CD36 is a member of the scavenger receptor family.
Most recent studies have established that a partial CD36 deficiency has a protective effect
On animals
Protects against atherosclerosis
Restore insulin sensitivity
Protects against mycobacterial infection
Control liver steatosis
Protects against cardiomyopathy
On humans
CD36 deficient heterozygote are protected against metabolic syndrome
THE PRODUCT:
ARTERIA has secured a cutting edge expertise in cellular high throughput screening (HTS) based on reverse–phenotyping methodology. A proprietary HTS screening platform has been developed and operated, leading to the patented series of anti CD36 inhibitors.
A first lead has been selected and extensively investigated on cellular and animal models, demonstrating that orally active small MW inhibitors of the CD36 function may open a new class of therapeutics for the treatment of Dyslipidemia associated with Diabetes. This first selected lead was optimized and a NCE, AP5258 is in early development.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
ARTERIA’s drugable and safe analog AP5258 has the capacity to produce PER OS, 100% inhibition of postprandial triglyceride, improves glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity, and protects against atherosclerosis and liver steatosis.
